Living with COVID-19 as a risk has meant wearing a mask, extra cleaning, and dramatic lifestyle changes, which includes reassessing the places you visit outside your home. Many businesses have reported cases of the Coronavirus, but dentistry is different. Because of practices like ours, the chance of catching and spreading COVID while visiting the dentist is incredibly low. But why? Keep reading to learn about the extra steps we take every day at Day Hill Dental for ultimate COVID safety and peace of mind for our patients.
Air Purifiers in Each Room
One of the most significant investments we’ve made in our safety protocol is putting air purifiers in each room. This allows our patients and staff to breathe in and out clean air that has 99.9% of airborne germs removed, dramatically lowering your risk of COVID-19. Plus, we provide Peroxide mouthwash for each patient before we take a look at their mouth. This is a quick, 30-second rinse that kills bacteria and potential viruses in the mouth.
Ensuring Social Distancing
To ensure that patients and staff members are socially distanced, we are not running at capacity. This means more space in our office, less foot traffic, and additional time for cleaning. Plus, we will always see that patients don’t come in contact with each other, directing you into common areas while avoiding others. This is also why we’ve updated our protocol with a virtual waiting room, allowing you to relax in your vehicle until you’re notified to come into our office. Additionally, all staff members wear proper PPE to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the office.
Hand Sanitizer for All!
One of the gifts you get by visiting our office (in addition to a healthy smile) is our to-go oral health bag, including things like floss, a toothbrush, and toothpaste. However, due to COVID-19, we now also give each of our patients a personal mini bottle of hand sanitizer! This can be used in our office and well after your appointment!
Thorough Cleaning & Sanitization
Before COVID-19, we were already committed to safety guidelines handed down by the CDC, ensuring our patients stay healthy. In addition to our normal cleaning, our spaced-out appointments allow for more time in between patients, which we use to thoroughly sanitize all high touch surfaces. We also clean patient areas, bathroom doorknobs, and anywhere else that patients may come in contact with germs.
Whether you need to visit us for a routine checkup, or more extensive dentistry, we are ready to help in our safe, clean, and comfortable practice while giving you ultimate peace of mind.
